MEASURING SOUND WITH THE SPEED OF LIGHT!
A unique fiber optic technology that not only detects but even identifies local activities. Every activity has a specific acoustic "footprint" that is recognized by the reading unit. This can range from human footsteps to e.g. removing a lid section from a concrete cable duct. The oparation of the system is based on the phenomenon that acoustic energy agitates the silica molecules of the glass fiber. The high reading frequency enables to see the direction of development of the activity.
